YOU Are The Final Piece

Dear Generous Friends of Hope,

As we complete our Quilt of Hope this holiday season, the final square we’ve reserved for you. The collective you who have shared what you have to make the students and staff in Liberia able to do the year-round magic that they do.

Each and every time we have shared a need with you this year, you have stepped in, stood up, extended yourself and together, the beauty of this quilt has surprised us all.

We are a small organization. That is true. But the way you all surround and support the work makes it seem gigantic.

We are still hoping for $10,000 by year end. With you all, nothing seems impossible.

A Square in the Shape of a Heart

Dear Generous Friends of Hope,

If a quilt square could be shaped like a heart, this would be the one. This sewn in piece represents the tangible love and care that has been extended to Hope this year. Because of you, within the school community there has been:

  • Emergency surgeries and life-saving dialysis.

  • Support of parentless students, and parental support.

  • Restocked medical clinic shelves.

  • Food, supplies, hearing aids, medications, celebrations…

All the stuff that affirms our shared humanity. This piece of the quilt has created safe space and needed support. You have made this possible.

Give Hope

As we celebrate the holidays and all the connections that bind us, remember the shared connections of love with our Liberian friends that we nurtured together.

As we close out 2021, we would welcome your year-end gifts that make it possible to continue to weave together these quilt squares of Hope.

Centered Squarely for Success

Dear Generous Friends of Hope,

Graduations in winter? That’s just another impact in the strange year of 2021. What is not strange, but rather wonderful, is that Hope International continues to graduate classes and that some of these graduates get the opportunity, through your continued generosity, to attend university.

Today we celebrate Florence Davies, a Hope International Alumni, President of the Alumni Association and as of November 23, 2021, a graduate of African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Florence is strong, determined and dreams of pursuing law. She and we dream that, and together, we can make this happen.

Class of 2021 Graduates!

This week we also celebrate Hope International’s Class of 2021. In January, 103 seniors will (finally) receive their high school diploma.

This piece of the quilt celebrates the achievements of all of our students and honors their hard work and grit to arrive here. It also honors you. Your investment in their education and the future of this community is also something to celebrate every day, and we do.

Thank you for supporting these students and celebrating together all the bright futures unfolding.

We are over ½ way to our year-end financial goal of $20,000. If you are able to add a few stitches to this quilt that love is sewing, we would be so grateful.
