On-Site Vocational Programs

Liberian staff at Hope International, longed to create an on-site vocational program for former and current high school students, as well as local community members. Their goal was to have three vocational certification options available in the areas of Sewing/Tailoring, Culinary Arts, and Electrical Technician. These programs were chosen by Hope International staff because of their employment opportunities in Liberia.

In Spring 2019, we applied for our first grant with Project Redwood, a group of Stanford Business alumni, whose mission is to provide funding, expertise, and connections to social entrepreneurs who address the challenge of global poverty. In 2020, 2021 and 2022, we applied and received additional grants. Through their generosity, we were able to establish three, on-site vocational programs, Sew Much Hope, Cooking Up Hope, and Power of Hope.

We are actively seeking sponsors to help sustain our three vocational programs. If you or your business are interested in sharing your generosity to make this possible, we would love to talk with you.
