Sew Exciting...3 More Days!

Friends of Hope,

Having just returned from Liberia I am so happy to share with you all the difference that Hope International’s Sew Much Hope is making for those who have graduated from the on-site vocational program. Businesses are starting, cooperatives are forming, and graduates are equipped and earning income to provide for themselves and their families.

Many of you sent funds with me to share with the community during my stay in Liberia. One person to receive those funds was Caroline, a 29-year-old mother and top graduate of Sew Much Hope’s most recent graduating class.

We pooled 4 people’s gifts and took Caroline to pick out her own foot-powered sewing machine (most homes do not have electricity), and some supplies to begin her home cottage sewing business. I think you can clearly see her excitement and pride.

On Monday, February 27th, our Quilt of Hope drawing will begin and you will have a chance to own a one-of-a-kind handmade quilt. Be watching your inbox for details.

Funds raised from the Quilt of Hope drawing will benefit the Sew Much Hope program and students like Caroline.

Stitched Together,
Jackie

The Dream Team is Green

Friends of Hope,

Today, Michael and I were given uniforms and invited to see the amazing work that our Community Sanitation partner Gabriel and his dedicated team at Green Planet Environmental Services, are doing in the school's neighborhood community of ClapusTown.

Gabriel and his team have made what once seemed impossible, possible. The cleanup work is slow, and it is hard, but exciting things are happening.

When I return, I look forward to sharing with you through a series of stories all the Community Sanitation team is working hard to accomplish. Together, there is so much for us to celebrate and bigger dreams to dream for Hope International and all who dwell nearby.

Together, we are The Hope Project.
