Tickets for our upcoming 17 Years of Shining Together Fundraiser & Celebration on May 3rd aren’t as brisk as we’d hoped. If you are able to come, we would be so happy and grateful. It is the one time a year where so many of us can gather in one space to celebrate all that has been made possible. Together, We Shine.
Maybe the following news will add some more excitement! At our May 3rd event, we will have napkins made by our very own Sew Much Hope Cooperative in Liberia available for purchase.
In their shared space, these 4 young women, graduates of the Sew Much Hope vocational program, sewed on their foot-powered machines, each and every napkin. On our return to the U.S., we packaged them up together to bring to you. Many of you have asked for these napkins to be made available. All proceeds from sales will benefit the Sew Much Hope program, training up Liberia’s next tailors and designers.
Speaking of Sew Much Hope, while in Liberia we had the opportunity to attend the graduation program for the intermediate sewers transitioning to their advanced training. Each student designed, patterned, and sewed a garment of their choosing, showing proficiency and many different competencies. Joy and pride were present in abundance.
Speaking of joy, here is a photo of Leslie, this year’s Quilt of Hope winner. She shared with us, “Thank you so, sew much! I simply LOVE the Sew Much Hope stories and the impact sewing machines create for these students. I am going to so enjoy having this beautiful quilt!”
