Share a Chair

The staff at Hope International has sent us a big need that together, can be met through small individual acts of generosity.

During our (un)Event 2022, we shared the metaphor of The Expanding Table of Hope. A table that has a seat for each of us: the students, the teachers, you, me all of us together and the importance of their being a seat for us all.

Now we find ourselves with the literal need for seats. 500 of them to be exact. We need 500 chairs to replace broken ones and fill the newest classrooms. 500 (big amount) at $20.00 each (relatively small amount).

Can you join us in purchasing a chair for the students of Hope International? $20.00 = 1 chair

Together, the 500 isn’t overwhelmingly big. Together, we can ensure a seat for everyone.

Classes in Session

The doors at Hope International are officially opening on Monday, September 12th. Just like here in the States, staff, students, and parents are readying themselves for the new school year. There is excitement, there is buzz, there are also some needs, both big and small, for the upcoming year.

During September, we will be sharing with you two specific ways to support the students and staff of Hope International. Be watching your email next week for our small donation/large impact Share a Chair campaign. Together, we will support the students in the classroom in the most essential way, by providing a seat at the Table of Hope.

Marthaline the Queen

Each day 1,200 students walk through the gates to Hope International School. Marthaline is one of these students achieving her dreams of an education.

Marthaline is a graduating senior in Hope International’s Class of 2022. She currently lives with her grandparents after the death of her father. She sells doughnuts as a street vendor to help support her family.

According to UNICEF, 15-20 percent of children aged 6-14 are not attending any form of school in Liberia. Only 54 percent of children complete primary education in Liberia. At Hope International, on average 95 of students graduate each year. Our first graduating class was in 2013, and to date, 528 students have graduated.

Thank you for supporting the dreams and education of Marthaline and the other 1,200 students of Hope International.

Together, we are The Hope Project.
